Family Chiropractic
Everyone can benefit from Chiropractic treatment. Although most of our patients present with particular ailments or symptoms, more and more people are realizing the benefits of maintaining good spinal health. The old adage that, prevention is better than cure, certainly holds true when it comes to the profession of Chiropractic. Sometimes underlying issues are subclinical, which means that a person may not realize that they have some form of musculoskeletal aberration which has not yet become symptomatic. This may be as a result of a sedentary lifestyle causing bad posture or the other extreme of overactivity placing undue stress on the body. This may be found in toddlers, all the way through to geriatrics.

Paediatric Chiropractic
As well as focusing on the well being of adults and geriatrics, Dr Long also has post graduate training in treating infants and toddlers, and works in collaboration with numerous Paediatricians and midwives.
Restricted space in the womb, coupled with the potential for stress on the cranium and spine of the baby during both natural childbirth and C-section, can result in joint restrictions in the spine and cranial sutures. This can result in a myriad of signs and symptoms as a result of spinal restrictions adversely affecting the normal functioning of the central and autonomic nervous system. In addition to possibly causing conditions such as colic, constipation, reflux etc, various milestones may be delayed or affected. Cranial suture distortions may also result in adverse effects on cognitive development. Correcting asymmetry and biomechanical dysfunction in these young humans is paramount to their development and potential prevention of neuromusculoskeletal conditions later on in life.
